Sumter Through Your Lense, Your Community, Your Health, Your Voice.

What is Sumter Through Your Lens?

Sumter Through Your Lens (STYL) is a community-based project that uses photography to reflect what makes Sumter County a healthy place to live, work, and play.

Community members use the camera lens to capture the strengths of the community, as well as areas of improvement. These images, along with descriptive captions, can be used to encourage positive changes in the community.

This project was launched in September of 2017 and collected photos through April 2018. Community members submitted over 200 photos representing their perspectives on health in Sumter County. Please enjoy this collection of photos and descriptive captions, all crafted by community members. Thank you to all who made this project a beautiful success!

Upcoming photo projects with STYL

The 2017-2018 Sumter Through Your Lens project was the first-ever community photo campaign facilitated by the Florida Department of Health in Sumter County.
