Early detection is the key to successful diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancers.
The Florida Department of Health in Sumter County (DOH-Sumter) participates in the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCCEDP).
This program provides screenings, clinical breast exams, pap tests, and mammogram referrals at no charge to women who meet the following eligibility requirements.
- At least 40 years old
- Has little or no health insurance
- Meets income guidelines of the program
- Lives in Florida
- Has Sumter County Residency
DOH-Sumter also provides cervical screenings and clinical breast exams for a minimal fee to women who do not qualify for FBCCEDP.
