The Sumter County Health Department provides examination, treatment, consultation, and educational services to persons infected with or suspected of being infected with a STD (Sexually Transmitted Diseases, also known as STIs or Sexually Transmitted Infections). Early diagnosis and treatment prevent the development of disease-related complications and reduces the spread of STD infections. We offer a variety of services, in strict confidence, including:
- Screening
- Counseling
- Treatment
- Partner counseling and referrals
- Linkages to other services (such as HIV/AIDS patient care, prenatal and family planning)
Reduced fees are available for those who are uninsured and fall below federal poverty guidelines with income verification. STD appointments are conveniently located at our Bushnell and Wildwood clinic sites.
